National Board publishes tip sheets on CPD and audit

25 Mar 2015

The Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia has published two tip sheets for practitioners.

The quick reference tip sheets cover continuing professional development (CPD) and audit.

Board Chair Neil Hicks urged medical radiation practitioners to read both tip sheets, especially as the profession will be subject to audit in May.

‘The tip sheets are handy resources to help practitioners meet the Board’s CPD requirement and be ready to respond if they are randomly selected for audit to check that declarations made at renewal were true and correct,’ he said.

The aim of the CPD tip sheet is to help registered medical radiation practitioners stay on top of their CPD.

It gives pointers on:

  • making a CPD plan
  • sourcing and recording CPD activities, and
  • keeping CPD records safe.

The audit tip sheet aims to help practitioners be ready to respond within the required timeframes if they receive an audit notice letter.

It outlines the importance of:

  • maintaining good records (e.g. CPD activities and employment history)
  • keeping them safe, and
  • planning ahead to meet audit requirements.

Mr Hicks said the Board welcomed feedback on the tips sheets to mrpba@ahpra.gov.au.
