Announcing appointments to the Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee

The Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (the Board) is pleased to announce the following Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee (Accreditation Committee) appointments.

  • Prof Marilyn Baird reappointed as Chair, Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee to 30 June 2017. An academic member, diagnostic radiographer from Victoria. 
  • Prof Brian Jolly appointed as co-Deputy Chair Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee to 31 December 2018, a community member, Victoria. 
  • Dr Sarah Lewis appointed as co-Deputy Chair Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee to 31 December 2018 an academic member, diagnostic radiography from New South Wales. 
  • Ms Jane Shepherdson reappointed to 31 December 2018 as an educationalist, diagnostic radiographer from South Australia. 
  • Ms Jillian Harris reappointed to 30 June 2017 as a practitioner member, radiation therapist from New South Wales) 
  • A/ Prof Deborah Starkey reappointed to 30 June 2017 as an academic member, diagnostic radiographer from Queensland. 
  • Dr Sharon Maresse appointed to 31 December 2018 as an academic member, radiation therapy from West Australia. 
  • Dr Daphne James reappointed to 31 December 2018 as an academic member, nuclear medicine scientist from New South Wales.

The Board congratulated Professor Marilyn Baird on her re-appointment as the Chair of the Accreditation Committee and expressed confidence in her ability to provide strong and strategic leadership of the Accreditation Committee.

The Board also congratulated Professor Brian Jolly and Dr Sarah Lewis on their appointments as co-Deputy Chairs of the Accreditation Committee and look forward to their contributions in the accreditation of programs of study and clinical learning and assessment.

The Board was pleased to receive 16 applications and acknowledged the strong and diverse field of individuals seeking appointment to the Accreditation Committee. The Board also thanked everyone who took the time to apply for appointment.

All appointments and reappointments are made by the Board following public call for expressions of interest.
